I have a logo… now what?

First off, congratulations on your new logo! Having a solid logo is the cornerstone of building a strong (and successful) brand.

But now you’re wondering what to do next. After all, brand building doesn’t stop with your logo. Whether you’re a startup unveiling your brand for the first time, or an established business updating your brand, the goal is to keep your brand 100% consistent across all platforms. We’re here to help you do just that.

Update your online platforms with your new logo.

It may sound obvious, but the first thing you should do is make sure all of your online platforms feature your new logo. Here’s a quick checklist to work through:

  • Company Website (Don’t have a website? We can help!)
  • Email Signature
  • Social Platforms
  • Facebook
    • Instagram
    • Twitter
    • Google+
    • LinkedIn
    • Pinterest
  • Online Directories
    • Yelp
    • Angie’s List
    • Industry Specific Directories (e.g. Houzz, WebMD, etc.)

Not every one of these will apply to your business, but you’ll want to be sure to show off your new logo on the ones that do.

Update your print materials with your new logo.

In our digital age, it’s easy to forget about old-fashioned, printed materials. But chances are, you have more than a few printed items to update.

  • Business Cards, Letterhead, Envelopes & Business Stationery
  • Apparel (e.g. Team Uniforms, T-Shirts, etc.)
  • Signage (e.g. Storefront, Vehicles, etc.)
  • Print Ads

Keep building your brand.

After you’ve updated the nitty gritty details, it’s time to come up with a game plan for branding your business. A few of our suggestions:

Create a brand book. A brand book is a compilation of your branding details, from what colors to use where, to which font to use for headings, subheadings, and more. Having a brand book helps you brand consistently, especially if you have multiple people handling your brand.

Update your website. Nothing looks more out of place than a brand new logo showcased on an outdated website. If you’ve just updated or created a logo, now is the perfect time to refresh your website, too. Make sure you reference your brand book to keep colors, fonts and verbiage consistent.

Market your brand. If you have a new logo, website, and brand book to guide you, it’s time to show the world what you have to offer. Be active on social media, engage with your followers, and use your voice to build a following of loyal customers. Beautiful brands attract people, and good content is what makes them stay. Spend time crafting content that actually answers questions and benefits your target market.

Building your brand is an ongoing process that doesn’t happen overnight, but you’re off to a great start. With a new logo in hand and a few new actions to implement, you’ll be building your brand like nobody’s business in no time.

If you run into any roadblocks along the way or have any branding questions, we’re always here to help. Just shoot us an email or give us a call at 415.365.1042.

Happy branding!
